‘The Bachelorette’ spotlight: Will Robby Hayes swim his way to JoJo Fletcher’s heart?
We know that athletes do have a tendency to get a lot of attention on “The Bachelorette,” and we understand why: They’re always in great shape, they can run around shirtless to the delight of women everywhere, and they’ve had enough experience around women to know often at least how to behave when the cameras are going. The issue we’ve seen here or there is that sometimes, there’s not always a whole lot of substance there.
Will Robby Hayes prove to be a little different than the standard “Bachelorette” athlete? Let’s figure that out in the spotlight below.
Name – Robby Hayes
Age – 27
Occupation – Former professional swimmer. He went to school at Florida State University, and he also tried out for the Olympics in 2012.
Location – Jacksonville, Florida. Another Floridian this season! This does make sense, when you at least look at where he went to school.
Pros – Robby seems to be a smart guy, and someone with clearly a lot of drive. He also apparently loves to dress up her his bio, which means that JoJo is not going to have to worry nearly as much about whether or not he will spend most of his days wandering around in sweatpants at fancy events. We think that he will probably fight to have time with her just based on his nature, which should help for the first few weeks.
Cons – On the flip side, the guy describes himself as handsome, so he’s got a little bit of an ego. Whether or not this is a healthy ego, however, still remains to be seen. Sometimes, you do have to swallow a little bit of humble pie!
Most likely to… Be pushed into doing some sort swimming challenge with someone else in the cast.
Final assessment – We do like Robby, and we think that JoJo will be into him. However, at the same time we need to see more of his funnier side, or his personality beyond being competitive to know that he could be a contender this season all the way to the finale.
