‘The Bachelorette’ spotlight: The mysteries ‘Bachelor superfan’ / JoJo Fletcher contender James S.
Typically when we do some of these “Bachelorette” spotlight articles, we are able to find at least a little bit of information somewhere regarding the contenders on a given season; however, that’s not really the case with James S., a guy who is so under wraps still that we don’t even know his last name! All we know for certain is that he’s from Phoenix, and has one of the most-absurd job titles that we’ve ever seen over the course of the show’s history.
If you’re still with us, let’s take a deeper dive in here to try to figure this guy out a little bit further.
Name – James S. (still no last name out there).
Age – 27
Occupation – “Bachelor” superfan. Is this just code for “I don’t have an actual job”? We certainly think that this is possible, but so is the possibility that he just has a really boring job and this is therefore funnier.
Location – Phoenix, Arizona. There have been other contestants on the show from the desert, but in general we really don’t consider this to be a hotbed of much of anything when it comes to contestants.
Pros – He seems like a super-sweet guy. He takes intimacy seriously, he cares about the relationships that he has, and given that he was with someone for seven years, it’s clear that he has no problem with commitment. He’s also going to have an inside knowledge of the show that may help him to a given degree.
Cons – When you consider how aggressive some other guys can be, we wonder if James is a little bit of a minnow in a shark tank. He may just be too nice for this competition, and he also may not be used to moving quickly.
Most likely to… Really trying too hard to the point of him falling hard on his face with a big romantic gesture.
Final assessment – It’d be nice to see a guy like James, who is not of the typical contestant mold, to go far on the show. We just don’t see it. As a matter of fact, it wouldn’t be a shock that he was eliminated within the first couple of episodes of the season.
