‘Jane the Virgin’ season 3: Will Jane remain a virgin?
It’s fair to say that the season 2 finale of “Jane the Virgin” changed the game? In many ways yes, given that we saw Jane and Michael get married … only to see the latter shocked in a stunning move at the end of the episode. Susanna was actually Sin Rostro, and was responsible for the shooting.
Does this mean that Michael is for sure gone? Speaking to Deadline, executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman claims that you’ll have to wait until season 3 to find out his fate one way or another … for now, we’re hoping that means he’s alive. She also made it clear that there are already some plans for Gina Rodriguez’s character to finally lose her virginity at some point moving into the third season:
“I never wanted Jane to lose her virginity in a season premiere, or a season finale. I think that puts too much pressure on her virginity and frankly, that’s never been what the show’s been about. That said, she won’t be a virgin by the end of next season…
“And of course Jane will be happy at the end of our telenovela. What that “happily ever after” looks like — whether it’s the traditional ending we expect in a fairytale — I won’t say. But yes! Jane will be happy!”
Ultimately, the hardest part of where we are right now in the run of “Jane the Virgin” is the waiting. There is no definite word as to when the show is going to come back, and our main hope is that it’ll be at some point in the fall. We’ll know soon courtesy of The CW’s upfront presentation.
