‘Outlander’ season 2, episode 7 video: Claire struggles with Jamie’s actions, physical trauma

Claire -If there are two words in which we would use right now to describe how Claire Fraser is feeling on “Outlander” at present, it’d be “distressed” and “betrayed.” First and foremost, her own health is on the line as she is experiencing some troubles in childbirth, which suggests that she could end up losing her baby. Also, she’s reeling from what happened with Jamie going back on his word regarding Black Jack Randall.

The new promo below is psychological more so than anything else, as Caitriona Balfe’s character continues to try and wrap her head around what has happened, and how much her opinion of Jamie changes as a result of it. Sure, there is a part of her that understands his thirst for revenge; she can see what happened to him anytime she looks at the scars on his back, and she also understands how badly the man haunts her. She just wishes that, at the same time, he would understand her position in regards to Frank, difficult as it may be for Jamie to sympathize with someone who was also her husband in a different time.

As Claire wrestles with some of these emotions, Jamie is still imprisoned following the unsanctioned duel and the arrest. What also makes this notable is that these actions could make him more of a public figure, and in turn continue to make matters more difficult in his quest to halt the Jacobite Rebellion, which suffered a major blow courtesy of what happened with Prince Charles’ plan on this past episode.

We’ll have more on this upcoming episode (entitled “Faith”) over the coming days. For now, head over here to see our review of the most-recent installment!
