‘Game of Thrones’ season 6, episode 5 preview: Peter Dinklage, Maisie Williams, and alliances in ‘The Door’

Tyrion -Tonight, “Game of Thrones” is pushing the story of season 6 forward in many different ways, but as we approach the halfway point of the season in next week’s “The Door,” we are very liable to see the story explode outward in a variety of different and hopefully-exciting directions.

Just to give you a little bit of a jumping-off point in our preview for the next episode, we suggest right now checking out the official synopsis below:

“Tyrion seeks a strange ally. Bran learns a great deal. Brienne goes on a mission. Arya is given a chance to prove herself.”

At the moment, we’d say that Tyrion’s story is the one that could continue to use the biggest boost, since the first three episodes before tonight were incredibly slow for him; any way to bring the folks from Essos closer to the world of Westeros is something we will certainly embrace.

As for Bran, it’s pretty clear that he is building towards something with his ability to look back into the world of the past. He has insight in the way that few others do, and you have to assume that in due time, that will start to have more of a present focus and role on the show.

There’s just one part of the promo below we’re going to point out above all else, mostly because it’s terrifying: Bran seeing the Night’s King! If there is one thing he should want to wake up from, this is it.
