The second season of “Madam Secretary” certainly had a wide array of twists, whether it be Henry nearly dying / eventually taking a new job and our title Secretary being offered an even higher position in President Dalton’s administration in the finale.
Unfortunately, now the lengthy wait begins. There is no new episode airing on CBS tonight, and there won’t be any more until likely late September or early October. When the show does return, we could end up seeing quite a few resolutions, developments, and much more for Tea Leoni and the cast. There will be a lot of time to tell stories in season 3, but why wait on resolving cliffhangers? We would imagine that we would move on from those fairly quickly to focus on some other things.
The third season will start filming this summer, and one thing in particular we’d like to see behind the scenes is Morgan Freeman directing another episode, given that he is an executive producer on the project and did so during season 2. Also, of course we’d love to have a few more notable guest stars. The show tells some of the most grounded, intelligent stories on network TV, but unfortunately doesn’t get the press that many of the other shows out there do. We’re sure that there will be a few more announcements here and there over the course of the coming months, and we’re looking forward to having some other news to share on that subject.
