‘Undercover’ season 2: Renewal hopes for BBC One drama
Tonight, BBC One is saying farewell to its latest scripted entity in “Undercover,” but is it a farewell forever? That is a question that we understand many having at the moment, based on the fact that the finale is airing in a matter of hours.
Unfortunately, there is no confirmation out there just yet as to whether or not there will be a second season of the show. The network does like to keep these sort of things close to the vest, and doesn’t give a whole lot of scoop away about what is coming up in advance. Therefore, maybe we will get a chance to hear more at some point later this year.
If you have not heard much about the finale for the series, our suggestion is to check out the official (short) synopsis below:
“Maya has one last chance to save Rudy, while Nick may have a final shot at redemption. But as the details of her two old cases emerge, Maya is asked whether truth is a price worth paying.”
Let’s just hope that this series gets a great shot at a future, especially since we’re still feeling at present rather bummed out about what happened to another truly great series in “Home Fires,” which was recently canceled by ITV in a rather unheralded way after being so excellent for much of the year. It did get a second season, but like “Undercover” it also ran for a very short period of time in just six episodes.
Rest assure that there will be some more news as it comes out.

A well acted drama let down by the dud ending. This seems to be the in thing these days ie dont tie the story line up and leave people waiting for a second season that might not ever happen. The BBC executives ought to hang their heads in shame the way they treat their audience. It would serve them right if they lost the licence fee.

I just happened to watch all but 2 episodes since BBC never really promoted this show at all. Last week is was about star wars, etc. Glad I watched and hope for another season. Sophie Okonedo is an amazing actress.
