‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2 spoilers: Boss teases further ‘completely new thing’

LegendsThe season finale of DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” is coming to The CW on Thursday night, and if you weren’t excited about it already, you should be. We’re going to have a chance to see the conclusion most likely of the Vandal Savage story, and to go along with that, also a wonderful opportunity to set things up for the second season. We know that there are some interesting plans that the show has in store there; specifically, “Suits” star Patrick J. Adams has been brought on for some sort of a role, but for the time being everyone is being relatively hush-hush on what this role could be.

While showrunner Phil Klemmer did not do a whole lot to address Adams’ character in a new interview with TV Guide setting up the episode, he did pass along the following message:

“I can say the finale feels like a climax. This series was always meant to be something that we could never [repeat] themes [or] stories [in]. We always meant to leave it all on the field and burn all of our bridges so Season 2 would effectively have to be a totally new premise and a totally new setup. So yeah, we’re really burning it down with our finale.”

The only other thing that we know for certain is that Wentworth Miller won’t exactly be back as Captain Cold full-time. He has signed a deal to be a regular in the Greg Berlanti superhero universe, but will use that to flutter around between various shows. It’s a unique deal, and we’re interested in seeing how that develops.
