Just in case you needed further evidence that the Earth-2 version of Laurel Lance was far less kind and caring than the Earth-1 incarnation on “The Flash,” we’ve got a pretty solid bit of proof for you.
In a new post from the show’s official Tumblr, you can see the first meeting between this version of Laurel, otherwise known as the Black Siren, and Barry Allen. It doesn’t look as though it’s gone well. She seems to mock Barry for the Earth-1 version of the character being dead, and introduces herself by her alter ego of Black Siren. She’s the leader of many of Zoom’s meta-humans, who have been sent over by him to help conquer Central City. As a result of this, chaos is probably going to ensue.
Personally, we’re thrilled to see Katie Cassidy get a chance to do something more in this universe this year, especially when it is something that is so different than what we’ve seen her do over the course of the show’s run. Laurel’s had her demons, but they were within herself and were not used to cause any malice or harm to anyone else. This is an entirely different situation, and this is something that could give quite a few people out there something to fear.
This will likely be the last appearance of Cassidy in the Greg Berlanti superhero universe for some time. Hopefully, she’ll turn up on one of the shows moving forward, but we also know that she’s going to be in-demand as an actress moving forward, as well.
