‘The Originals’ season 3, episode 22 preview: ‘The Bloody Crown,’ and a prophecy fulfilled

Originals -Where is the story on “The Originals” going moving into the finale? The finale coming up is entitled “The Bloody Crown,” and based on what we have in the synopsis below, there are clearly a few dangerous twists and turns ahead (including one with Marcel, which is somewhat surprising given the events of “Give Em Hell Kid”):

“After months of thwarting off dangerous threats and deadly attacks, the Mikaelson siblings finally come face to face with the one person that could lead to their ultimate demise. With the stakes higher than ever and the compound overrun by an army of his oldest sworn enemies, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is put on trial for centuries of atrocities he’s committed. Meanwhile, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who has been spiraling out of control following an act of betrayal by those closest to him, is stunned by the unexpected arrival of someone from his past. Finally, Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Freya (Riley Voelkel) and Kol (guest star Nathaniel Buzolic) frantically search for a way to save their family before it’s too late.”

Is this storyline going to carry into season 4? Given how late we are in the season right now, we do hope so, if for no other reason than that we really want to see a great foundation in this episode for what is coming up next. It’s not often we really see a network show set up the upcoming season, beyond just a cliffhanger here and there. This is a great opportunity, and hopefully the show delivers on everything that is above, mostly because the idea of Klaus on trial sounds awesome. A little scary, sure, but awesome nonetheless given that he’s already gone through so much with Cami’s death.

We also have an official promo below so be sure to check it out! Let’s just say that it features the return of at least one familiar face.
