‘Game of Thrones’ season 6, episode 4: Aidan Gillen on Littlefinger’s return!

LogoIf you’ve been so inclined as to get some other news on “Game of Thrones” right now, look no further! What we have today is something we consider to be rather-glorious news, largely because we are thoroughly excited to learn that a certain character in Littlefinger is officially back in action!

Aidan Gillen plays one of the greatest characters within the world of the HBO show, but the reality here is that the story has drifted away from him the moment that Sansa Stark went into the clutches of Ramsay Bolton. The problem here is that Littlefinger was not quite aware of his inner monster, and all of his politicking ended up biting him in the butt … at least for now.

In previewing his story moving forward in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gillen had the following to say:

“For me, this time out, there’s a level of atonement in relation to Sansa and my misjudgment of Ramsay Bolton. A lot of what I’m up to is atonement and really trying to align myself the right people – though, I guess, I’m always doing that! I left Sansa married to a psychopath. It’s probably the one time we’ve seen Littlefinger slip up. He really didn’t know about him. He should have.”

Can Littlefinger atone? He’s the sort of person who is capable of it; in some ways, his entire life has been about learning, and trying to find a way to move forward despite humble beginnings. He may even be able to win Sansa back if he comes at her in the right way and with the right information. In the end, time will tell there.
