‘The X Factor’ UK: Louis Walsh reportedly signs deal to return

The latest news -While we certainly assumed that Louis Walsh would be returning to “The X Factor” for this coming season based on the deluge of reports that are out there about his return, isn’t it nice to see that be close to official now?

According to a report from the Mirror, the former judge has signed a deal of almost a million pounds ($1.45 million) to return to the show; while the publication makes that out to be a staggering figure, we should note that there are some singing-show judges in America who have been paid ten times that for their services. We’re not saying that any of them were worth that kind of money, but it still happened nonetheless.

It’s also worth noting that Walsh is going to see the show return to his home country this year, as the show will be heading to Ireland to have auditions in Dublin for the first time in six years. This is something we really don’t understand why the show doesn’t do more often, given that there are probably many prospective Irish singers who just don’t have the time or the resources to travel over to the UK.

The new season of the show is going to be premiering on ITV later this year; while the full panel has not been confirmed as of yet, we anticipate Walsh and Simon Cowell being joined by the likes of Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne, provided some of the recent rumors turn out to be true.
