‘NCIS’ season 13, episode 24 (finale) spoilers: ‘Family First’ ends run of Michael Weatherly’s Tony
For all fans of Anthony DiNozzo, bust out the tissues. Next week, the season 13 finale for “NCIS” is going to be your fond farewell to this great character as played by Michael Weatherly … and also maybe the tie above, which looks like it has little images of “The Voice” logo all over it.
Anyhow, the title for this upcoming hour is “Family First,” and you can expect a major tribute to all things Tony past and present. After all, why else would Robert Wagner be back? It’s also going to be the continuation of the story we saw tonight, where multiple organizations team up in order to ensure that a spy is stopped once and for all. Take a look at the synopsis below for some further details:
“NCIS, FBI and MI6 continue an international manhunt for an escaped British spy who is targeting current and former agents, on the 13th season finale of NCIS, Tuesday, May 17 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network. Guest stars include Robert Wagner as Anthony DiNozzo Sr., Sarah Clarke as FBI Special Agent Tess Monroe and Duane Henry as MI6 Officer Clayton Reeves.”
At this particular point in time, we don’t even know just how much more can be said about this finale that has not been said already. We’ve already heard about who won’t be showing up, how this finale should feel like a family affair for the cast, and how this sets up Clayton and Tess becoming more permanent parts of the show. We imagine that we’re going to have some more news on the show over the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

Sarah Clarke is just awful… No chemistry with anyone in the cast… Duane Henry could be ok, though… Also, I don’t know why people are upset with Michael Weatherly leaving, the show hasn’t done anything meaningful with him for years… He’s supposed to be such a great agent, but they have him come across as a buffoon…

He was nothing but a doormat with Ziva around and when she wasn’t there anymore, the writers forgot to write Tony as Tony and not as the T in tiva.

Tony was a hero for Ziva, and he will be again. He was her rock, her supportive sentry, her best friend. They both teased and challenged each other, as two emotionally dysfunctional adults who both hid behind their respective masks and needed to get to know the person behind it.. He planned the mission to Somalia, now he’ll be her hero again, it seems. The push pull writing was aggravated by two factors: the SRs being too chicken s**t of the so called Moonlighting Curse, so they wanted the draw of Tiva without committing TOO much, so they’d keep dropping seasonal sabotage to slow things down. I will be polite and not talk about the other reason, but there is a reason the last NON Gibbs-centric finale was under the old regime, IMHO.

Although GIbbs is not my favorite, I take every single Gibbs-centric finale or episode over Ziva or Tiva. You have already watched the last episode since you seem to know for sure that Tony will be her hero again.
We are talking about the Ziva who said that she needs a shower after talking to him? The Ziva who punched and abused an injured Tony and wanted him dead? The Ziva that went behind his back all the time? The Ziva that send him away in Israel? Yep, she loved him for sure *sarcasm*. If her behavior torwards him though the years means romantical feelings to you then the two of us have a different view at romance and love fo sure. Goodbye.

The Ziva that was devastated in Bury your Dead when Tony’s car blew up, who risked death or injury from shrapnal to protect,Tony from the bomb when he couldn’t hear her warning. The woman Tony loved to challenge and push, with whom he gave as good as he got. Two emotionally damaged fragile folks who had their own way of dealing with emotions Gibbs Rules and life’s tragedies kept forcing them to supress. The Ziva that told Tony he was loved. The Ziva who, I have no doubt would have taken a bullet for him. The Ziva who thought she too damaged to deserve being loved by him, damaged by what happened with Ari, and no doubt still dealing with Somalia in her own way. No, they are not conventional, easy, straighforward.
That is what is so compelling.
