Fox orders ‘Lethal Weapon,’ ‘The Exorcist’ many more to series

Fox -

We’ve been waiting for a little while now to see some of the big announcements to come in terms of the upcoming fall TV schedule, and today, the first shoe dropped over at Fox.

The first two new series are ones that are extremely predictable, and also easy to describe.

“The Exorcist” – A serialized re-imagining of the classic feature film, this will follow different men struggling to make sense of what appears to be demonic possession. Geena Davis is among the cast of the project.

“Lethal Weapon” – Damon Wayans Sr., Clayne Crawford, Jordana Brewster, and Kevin Rahm (“Mad Men”) are all going to star in this adaptation of the popular feature film series. This is further evidence is that Fox really loves remakes, which is interesting given that their version of “Minority Report” proved to be a major disappointment in the ratings this past season.

“The Mick” – A new comedy featuring Kaitlin Olson (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) as a woman with a foul mouth who ends up raising her wealthy sister’s children after she ends up fleeing the country amidst legal drama.

“Making History” – A time-travel comedy featuring Adam Pally, Leighton Meester and Yassir Lester. It’s an interesting concept, and uber-producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller are behind it.

“Pitch” – A series that has both Dan Fogelman (“Galavant”) and Paris Barclay (“Sons of Anarchy”) behind the scenes. On the screen, the story follows a young female pitcher (Kylie Bunbury) who fights to be in the major leagues.

“A.P.B.” – What happens when a tech billionaire purchases an old-school police precinct? Well, weird things are going to happen.
