While ITV has not fully confirmed the new panel for “The X Factor,” reports now suggest that the upcoming group of judges will be all about familiar faces than trying out new experiments. As a matter of fact, we could be getting back the same exact panel we had back during Sam Bailey’s season a few years back, with the one difference being that now Simon Cowell is in the place of Gary Barlow.
According to the Daily Mail, Nicole Scherzinger will return to the show this season, filling the spot vacated just earlier this week by Rita Ora. Also, Sharon Osbourne will seemingly return despite having some personal headlines in the tabloids over the past few days. Here is what a source had to say on the subject:
“Rita had been in discussions [to return] but it became apparent she was no longer the automatic top option. Nicole Scherzinger was a huge success whens she was on the X Factor a few years ago and has long been part of the X Factor family. She provided fun and entertainment and a huge personality to the show. She is the definite favourite to get the seat next to Simon.”
It’s funny in a way that we didn’t really like Nicole on the American version of the show; yet, she was really fun on the British version and we’d be happy to see her back. Really, a panel of Nicole, Sharon, Simon, and Louis Walsh would be great for lightening the tone of the show, and allowing it to be a little more fun than in past years. That should be a priority at this point.
