The second season of “UnREAL” is coming your way on Lifetime come Monday, June 6, and you don’t have to wait any longer to get a first look at our new leading man Darius Hill!
The image above via Us Weekly showcases the new “Everlasting” lead, played by B.J. Britt, and some of the women who will be competing for his heart / fame / a variety of other things. This is a show that will probably give you a chance to get to know some of these people fairly well over the course of the episodes ahead, but probably not all of them. After all, some will go home early, and some will probably be rather boring even if they last. That’s how it is with “the Bachelor” and many other dating shows.
While of course we imagine that we’re going to see plenty of Quinn and Rachel as they work to deliver this show, for Darius he likely sees this as an opportunity to cultivate his reputation as an NFL superstar both on and off the field. It’s a new angle for publicity, and who knows? Maybe he finds love out of this to.
Also, we imagine that he’s going to find himself at the center of plenty of discussion about race, given that he is the first black lead in “Everlasting” history, and this is still something that “The Bachelor” has not done. The irony here is probably that it will be a discussion point much more for the network and the executives there than it is for the people on the show.
