‘Dancing with the Stars 22’ postmortem. Why did Jodie Sweetin get eliminated?

Jodie -

Going into this “Dancing with the Stars” season, it really felt like Jodie Sweetin had it in the cards to make it to the finale. Thanks to “Fuller House,” she has not been more relevant in years; meanwhile, she’s nostalgia, and she also has a co-star in Candace Cameron Bure who could teach her a thing or two about the ballroom in advance.

Yet, somehow it just didn’t work out for her, and we understand if there are some out there wondering why. It’s hard to have a definite answer for you right now, but we can go ahead and speculate as to a few reasons.

1. A different base – For Bure, it may be a misnomer to think that most of her voters were only “Full House” fans when she did so well on the show. She also has a lot of support in the conservative faith-based community, and these were people who also got Bristol Palin into the finale and have supported similar people in the past.

2. A lesser-known pro – We hope that this was a good move up for Keo Motsepe, who had been eliminated early every season before this one. Pros have their own followings, and of the guys Mark Ballas and Val Chmerkovskiy are the two this season with the most fans.

3. Inconsistent scores – In the early going she had some rough weeks; she was getting better, but thanks to the group dance last week she was on the bottom of the leaderboard. She got a perfect score this time around, but it really did not matter much.

4. A super-strong field – This season you’ve got a Pittsburgh Steelers star, a “Good Morning America” meteorologist with tons of cross-promotion, a UFC fighter with some previous dance training, and also a super-talented male model. This may be one of the most competitive seasons yet.

We’ll miss Jodie, given that she did put up such a fight and tried her very hardest all season long. Hopefully, she’ll come back and start to wow everyone in the finale.
