‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 17, episode 21 video: A longer look at ‘Assaulting Reality’

Law & Order: SVU logoJust in case you were wondering how a show like “Law & Order: SVU” was going to take on the complicated, twist-laden world of a reality show like “The Bachelor,” rest assured that you’re going to get that answer soon … very soon.

What we have for you below is the extended promo for “Assaulting Reality,” an upcoming episode of the show set to air on Wednesday night. It’s a case that is going to make Benson and company question everything, since you’re not just dealing with a case of people with differing stories about an event. There’s also the public nature of it, as a woman claims to have been raped right in the middle of a broadcast for the show “Heart’s Desire.” Was this a move that she made for the purposes of TV, or was this to get the truth out into the world?

One thing that we can certainly tell from this promo is that production is not going to be a friend to the SVU through their investigation. Fin’s going to not love the cameras around, and the entire team could be frustrated with some of the personalities from this show being still within the world of the show just as much as the world of the investigation.

This is far from the first episode of a show to fictionalize the inner workings behind the scenes of a reality show; with that being said, “SVU” has a knack for putting a compelling and at-times chilling spin on their cases. This should be an episode worth watching.
