‘Outlander’ season 2, episode 6 video: The latest quest against Comte St. Germain

While Black Jack Randall may be the more notable of villains within the world of “Outlander” at present, don’t diminish the importance of a certain Comte St. Germain. He’s a highly intelligent, well-connected man, and he’s also someone who already holds a grudge against Jamie and Claire Fraser over what happened with the boat in the premiere.

If the Comte was upset about that, we imagine that he will be furious if the latest plan from Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe’s characters turns out to a success. This is something that you can see more of in the promo below from this weekend’s new episode, as the two are coming up with a plan to destroy his inventory. In doing so, they may be able to ensure that Prince Charles loses his funding, therefore ending the Jacobite Rebellion in its tracks.

Is this a smart plan? Sure, but we’ve seen many times over on “Outlander” that having a good plan is no guarantee of succeeding with this said plan. More often than not, there are some other problems that end up surfacing in unexpected ways. It happened with the dinner party, and it could happen again here. You have to remember that the Comte probably has more friends / acquaintances in France than Jamie and Claire do, and he could use some of these people to his advantage.

Also, it’s pretty clear that Jamie is distracted now that Claire has told him not to kill Randall for a solid year’s time. He seems to have agreed for the time being, but who knows if he will hold true to this promise?
