‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5, episode 21: Sean Maguire and Robin Hood’s story

Robin -Tonight’s “Once Upon a Time” episode proved to be devastating once more, and there is a fundamental reason for that: It’s the story of how Robin Hood ran out of arrows. Before Hades was killed by Zelena, the famed archer was destroyed by the crystal, seemingly not even giving him a chance to go to the Underworld.

With this, we have to say goodbye to an actor in Sean Maguire who brought his all to the role, and while he didn’t have too many spotlights over the course of the show’s run, he did the most with everyone one of them that they have. We understand that someone had to go to demonstrate Hades’ true power, but why him? Why do this to Regina? She’s already had a loved one die once, and there’s almost nothing good that can seemingly come from this. She looked in a state of shock for almost the entirety of the episode tonight after Robin died.

Does tonight’s episode mean the end is here for Maguire on the show? Well, we do know that there is always a chance to see flashbacks and the like on this show more often than not. We also want to dream that Robin could be resurrected given that so many are in this world, but we think that this is doubtful since the show specifically went out of their way in order to make it clear that he wasn’t going down to the Underworld after being struck.

So with that, fare thee well to Maguire, and here’s to hoping that he finds some other work at some point shortly.
