‘Call of Midwife’ season 5, episode 7 preview (PBS): What’s next for Tom and Barbara; contraceptive drama

Call -

The fifth season of “Call the Midwife” is starting to wind down, and the slow rise in technology is going to continue to be a major theme in the story. On Sunday’s episode Dr. Turner realized that smoking was not even remotely a good move for people out there who want to curb their smoking habits; moving forward, what we’re also going to learn is that not everyone is going to be excited to see the contraceptive pill spread across Poplar.

While this pill may do a good job at preventing unwanted pregnancies, the synopsis below via TV Guide made it clear that it could some problems for Sister Julienne, as she starts to feel like this could test her own moral code:

“The release of the contraceptive pill excites Dr. Turner, but Sister Julienne sees it as a moral dilemma; Patsy tries to help a transient woman avoid the maternity home; Nurse Crane helps in a post-natal emergency; and Sister Evangelina returns.”

Will it be nice to see Sister Evangelina back on the show? Absolutely, but we should warn you now that not everything is quite as it seems.

Also, we should also pass along that this episode will feature one of the most romantic moments yet for Tom and Barbara, but at the same exact time, this moment is not going to come without some consequences. Be prepared for that … but also be prepared for a few funny moments, as well.
