‘Talking Dead’ spoilers: Alycia Debnam-Carey, mystery cast members join Chris Hardwick

Given where the story for “Fear the Walking Dead” is at the moment, especially with the character of Alicia, it only made sense for Alycia Debnam-Carey to grace the “Talking Dead” stage sooner rather than later. She has not appeared on it this season, and she’s also one of the show’s most-popular actors right now.

Therefore, we’re not even remotely surprised that she is joining host Chris Hardwick for “Talking Dead” tonight. The larger surprise may be that she is being joined by not just one, but two mystery cast members. There’s no celebrity super-fan mentioned as stopping by, so this may be one of the most mysterious versions of the show to date.

Just remember here that the term “mystery cast member” does not necessarily correlate to “dead character.” Throughout much of this past season of “The Walking Dead” proper, the producers worked really hard to draw a distinction between the two. It’s just a further way to keep you on your toes, which is something that this franchise really likes to do.

In going back to Debnam-Carey, will Alicia get into a better position by the end of this episode? We certainly hope so, even though there’s never any guarantee of that in this world. There are still some more episodes to air this spring for the series, and then it will go on hiatus before returning with the second half of episodes a little bit later this year. At the moment, there is no confirmed premiere date for that batch.
