‘Call the Midwife’ season 5, episode 6 preview (PBS): Shelagh and Dr. Turner’s attempted holiday
“Call the Midwife” season 5 has slowly shown the struggle for several characters, but Dr. Turner’s story in particular has been heating up. On this past episode of the show, he had a little bit of a shock to his system when it comes to what he learned about smoking being hazardous to his health.
There are some more revelations still to come with this character moving forward this season, but on Sunday’s new episode on PBS, we’re going to see the character at least temporarily trying to take a break from it all. Will that work? Well, it’s going to be rather tricky. The synopsis below indicates just how Shelagh is going to try and help them:
“When a spate of violent attacks on women brings a state of fear to Poplar, prostitute Lizzie is too ashamed of social judgement to report it. This allows a dangerous man to go free and impacts directly on the residents of Nonnatus House. After an especially busy period, Shelagh and Timothy secretly organise to take Dr Turner on a long-overdue family camping holiday.”
As for the violent attacks storyline, we do not want to give away too much right now other than saying that there are going to be some particularly emotional moments in here as this case starts to impact main characters in a significant way. We haven’t mentioned Trixie and Barbara just yet, but the two of them are also going to have some movement in their own stories that could surprise you at least in some ways.
