‘Outlander’ season 2, episode 6 preview: Jamie and Claire’s latest scheme, Black Jack aftermath

Claire -

Tonight’s new episode of “Outlander” was a hugely significant one when it comes to laying out the course of events for the remainder of the season. After all, it marked a chance for Jamie and Claire to see Black Jack Randall in the flesh once more, and at the same time, the two quickly butted heads when it comes to how to properly deal with him. Jamie of course wanted to kill him right away, but Claire wants to see him live long enough for Frank Randall to exist within her modern world.

Next week, the temporary deal the two parties struck will be put further to the test, especially if Jonathan finds a way to immerse himself in their lives further. For Jamie, there is that thirst for vengeance, and it is the sort that will not go away.

Beyond that, there will also be a story that unfolds regarding wine, and potentially it will be the latest in the couple’s attempts to unravel the Jacobite Rebellion. However, what could be problematic for them is that if they are successful using the plan as constructed tonight, what does that mean for the Comte St. Germain? This is already a man with a rather negative opinion of the two, and there is great suspicion in the air that he was responsible for both the poisoning and the attack.

We suppose that we will find out more in due time as a non-book reader, but for Jamie and Claire’s sake we certainly hope this plan fares better for them than the dinner party.
