‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9, episode 24 (finale) spoilers: Judd Hirsch arrives as Leonard’s father

Finale -The ninth season of “The Big Bang Theory” is going to be coming to a close on CBS next week, and it is going to be doing so with an episode that has been many weeks in the making. From the moment that we first heard that Judd Hirsch was going to be appearing on the show as Leonard’s father, we were excited to see it. Now, we’re excited to finally see what he brings to the table.

As you may know, Hirsch is not the only guest star appearing in the finale, (the synopsis below reveals more on that), and also could potentially give some further closure as to what is going on with Howard and Raj:

“Chaos ensues when Leonard’s recently divorced parents, Alfred (Judd Hirsch) and Beverly (Christine Baranski), and Sheldon’s devoutly religious mother, Mary (Laurie Metcalf), come to town. Also, Wolowitz and Koothrappali think the government is out to get them when they are contacted about their guidance system.”

So why did the show choose to wait until now to debut Alfred? Maybe there is a sentiment at this point in the show’s run that they need to craft some sort of event to end a season on, and with Leonard and Penny already married and with Howard and Bernadette expecting a child, bringing the family together may be one of the best ways in order to do that.
