‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12, episode 22 video: The courtroom battle with Callie, Arizona

On Thursday night’s new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy,” we are going to see an extremely emotional sequence for Arizona, and it’s easy to understand why. Her custody battle with Callie over her daughter Sofia has gotten uglier and uglier as time has progressed, and it has led in turn to the two parties battling it out in court. This brings us to the sneak peek below.

Here, Arizona does her best to argue why she is a fit mother, and heavily refutes the claim that she is somehow less of a mother because she does not share any DNA with the child. She made the choice to be there for Sofia, who Callie wants to take across the country with her and her new girlfriend Penny.

With all of this being said, there is a dramatic turn when Arizona is called back to the hospital to care for a child there who will die without her help. She contends that Sofia will be cared for properly and loved no matter what happens with the hearing, but she just wants to be there as a mother and care for her. Then, she states that this child at the hospital will not have that care if she does not leave the court, which she is choosing to do.

Of course, we’re worried that Arizona could end up losing custody at this hearing, but we still feel like she’s got a very good shot of working things out in the end. Compromise has been a theme of this season in many ways, so hopefully one can be reached here, as well.
