‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 7 finale reaction: Did Sam save Aiden, and stop a terrorist?
For those of you wanting a meaty Sam Hanna story, it is pretty clear that the finale of “NCIS: Los Angeles” was that showcase and then some. With that said, it quickly proved itself to not exactly be a fluffy, lighthearted, or even everyday case for the character.
Instead, his son Aiden sent him a distress call on their secret channel, suggesting that there was a vicious military-school attack by a dangerous terrorist. This was a battle all about Sam in the end; he was who was being hunted, and it was all a plan to draw him out. At the center of it was Tahir, the known adversary who made his second appearance of the season here. Right when it seemed that Tahir and his men were about to beat Sam to death, Callen came to the rescue! It was a perfect example of teamwork tonight, as one team member worked to help the other. The same even goes for those back at the field office, who were able to use Aiden’s tablet to find him.
In the end, Sam in his battle with Tahir had to figure out what sort of man he wanted to be in front of his son, and he determined that the killer’s route wasn’t the right thing to do. Victory was had, everyone could take a deep breath, and then Kensi and Deeks had a chat about boogers. Yep.
In the end, there wasn’t any proposal or any other huge development in that department tonight (Eric and Nell did kiss!); yet, we still had a powerful hour of TV for Sam that could have him reconsidering his future moving forward. There was no major cliffhanger, but thanks to the strong personal element of this episode, we were fine with that.
