‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 20 spoilers: Carlos Valdes on key Cisco – Dante story

Cisco -

It has been a good while now since we’ve seen the Dante character on “The Flash,” but when he did last turn up, Cisco had to do what he could to ensure his safety. The two brothers already had a tense relationship, and we feel like things are going to accelerate on a different level Tuesday night. In this episode, entitled “Rupture,” Cisco’s going to learn that the Earth-2 version of his brother is an evil meta-human by this same name.

In talking further about this relationship between the two brothers on Earth-1, coupled with the arrival of Rupture, Carlos Valdes said the following to TVLine:

“The last time we left Cisco and Dante, Cisco had to make the choice to give up Barry’s identity to save his brother’s life, and he did that because family and his brother are so important to him. He will always make that choice, deep in his heart. Now, you’d think that traumatic circumstance would have brought them together, but it actually didn’t; in [this episode], their relationship is more hostile than ever, because there is a lot of resentment about what happened. That hostility continues, but the onset of Rupture kind of complicates things and forces Cisco to make the relationship come together.”

As if this was not enough of a hardship for Cisco and the entire STAR Labs team to worry about, remember here that Barry is at present powerless. Harry is considering creating a new particle accelerator incident in order to ensure that The Flash gets his powers back, but there’s no guarantee that it will work. Heck, at present there’s not even a guarantee that Barry will sign off on it.

If this happens, maybe Rupture will have an adversary to fight. Cisco is starting to understand his powers more, but to date he hasn’t really been able to use them for the purposes of offense. Instead, they’ve been more of a supplement to various missions.
