‘The Good Wife’ series finale: The Julianna Margulies series ends in veil of secrecy
In just seven days, “The Good Wife” as we know it is coming to an end, but unfortunately, it’s not exactly one that CBS is letting out a lot of information about in advance. As a matter of fact, they’re really sharing almost next to nothing.
Here’s what we know for now about the episode: The title is “End.” That’s about it. CBS did not release much of a real synopsis in advance, and nor did they release a guest cast. While this is common practice for a cable show with a series finale, it’s a little more unusual for a network drama. Yet, at the same exact time this is not a normal network drama by any means. It’s written like there is way more time to craft each story than there actually is, which is a great testament to creators Robert and Michelle King.
Even by the time we made it to the end of the episode tonight, it was still not entirely clear where the story would be going. Alicia and Peter had some moments of reflection, but what did this mean for their future? He claimed that he was ready to take a plea deal for two years, but the twist here was that we didn’t actually see him accept it. The verdict came in too quickly, and now we’re stuck in the middle of a cliffhanger.
Elsewhere, there are still questions regarding Alicia and Jason Crouse, and then also what’s going to happen to Diane and the firm. The saddest thing to report is that, unfortunately, there are seven days to go until the end is here.
