‘Madam Secretary’ season 2, episode 23 (finale) spoilers: Is Elizabeth McCord losing her job?

MadamTonight, “Madam Secretary” set the stage for what could be an epic finale airing in just seven days, and we’ve now got a few more details regarding just what you can expect to see. It’s going to be a big one in particular for the character of Elizabeth McCord, mostly because by the time we make it to the end of the episode, she may not actually be a Secretary of State at all.

The synopsis below gives you a few more details regarding what is going on with Tea Leoni’s character, while at the same time there is a significant development in her daughter’s personal life:

“When Elizabeth receives shocking news about an important political operative, she navigates a tricky political situation with President Dalton, who she learns may be considering replacing her as Secretary of State. Also, Stevie and Jareth (Christopher O’Shea) get engaged.”

Given the title of this show, we have a hard time imagining that this series is going to close things this season with Elizabeth not getting precisely what she wants when it comes to her job title. Also, we already know that there is a third season coming up on CBS in the fall. We’ve got a lot of faith that in one way or another, our leading lady will figure out how to navigate these tough waters, and also hopefully set the stage for something very exciting to come down the line. Stay tuned, as we’ll have some further news soon.
