‘Outlander’ season 2, episode 5 spoilers: Stanley Weber on what’s next for Comte St. Germain

Comte -In many ways, it’s been clearly established at this point that Black Jack Randall is the principal villain at the heart of “Outlander” right now. He’s the man who caused Jamie great physical and psychological harm, and knowing that he is alive could push Jamie further in ways that he has not been to date.

However, at the same exact time the Comte St. Germain is a man who is proving himself to be more of a threat to Jamie and Claire at present, given his thirst for revenge after what happened with his ship. He’s someone with a particular agenda, and a lot of resources at his disposal. Was he behind both the poisoning and the attack on the streets Sunday night? It’s certainly possible.

Stanley Weber is the man responsible for playing this role, and while he may not be particularly open to sharing specifics on what is next, he offered up the following tease to Yahoo TV, which certainly does have us interested and then some in what the future for this character could be:

“The prince is a very important person and the Comte is very attracted to power. He is striving to have a very wealthy business, and he sees getting close to the prince [Charles] as a way to expand his business and gain more power for himself. You can definitely expect interactions between those four. Jamie isn’t going to let it go that someone tried to poison his wife and then attacked her and her friends. He is going to keep trying to prove that I planned those things, and he may have to deal with me if I become close to his prince.”

It is fairly easy at present to say that the Comte is the big winner in the aftermath of what happened with the dinner party last night, mostly in that Charles’ opinion of Jamie may have changed; as a result of that, the Comte may be able to jump in and gain more trust and influence.
