‘Gotham’ season 2 spoilers: First insight into big finale!

“Gotham” season 2 has gotten increasingly weird and wonderful as time goes by, and with that you only have to wonder how things are going to wrap up.

Well, wonder no more! We’ve now got some first details on the finale (entitled “Transference”), as presented thanks to the folks over at SpoilerTV:

“While Gordon, Bruce and Lucius remain at Indian Hill, the city of GOTHAM will be met with a new threat as Hugo Strange’s inmates devise a plan to escape and start their new lives.”

Sure, it’s not the most informative synopsis in the world, but expect many of the familiar foes from the second season to appear in some capacity during this episode. We don’t want to give too much away when it comes to that just yet, but obviously since Hugo Strange is mentioned it’s safe to guess that at least one of his creations will be turning up. This character has been a tremendous part of this universe this season, mostly because he’s added that element of science fiction that has in many ways been missing from the show. Sure, Batman himself is a superhero without powers, but there were always some villains who had the upper hand on him in that department, or at least could do some things that tested human imagination. It made him an underdog, which is what we can also say now about Jim Gordon. When you look at him versus a guy like Mr. Freeze, of course the latter has the upper hand; yet, at the same exact time Jim may be resourceful enough to come up with a way to stop him.
