Here is something that we definitely did not see coming earlier on with the second half of “Once Upon a Time” this season: An incident where Hades actually needs help from some of the very heroes that he previously trapped in the Underworld.
If there’s one thing we know about Hades, it is that he is devious, and he operates using his own patterns and motivations. They’re hard to guess, and that is why you do have to take the sneak peek below with a certain grain of salt. In this preview, Hades makes a “promise” that if the rest of the heroes do what they can in order to help him rescue Zelena from Gold and Pan, he will in turn take the names off of the headstones, and allow them to return to Storybrooke.
Here is the issue: Why in the world would he suddenly be a good guy after spending much of this season trying to trap these people there? Is his devotion for Zelena really such that he is willing to change completely for her? Given that we have not heard any signs that Hades is sticking around beyond this season, we’re skeptical that Zelena in her own right is just another cog in a larger plan. This is an evil, powerful guy, so forgive us if we act like some of the other characters for a little while and don’t buy what he’s selling.
We will be back with another sneak peek a little bit later this weekend, and with that, we’ll hopefully have some more insight to go along with it.
