‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 7 finale spoilers: ‘Gods & Mosters’ to have key Ian Somerhalder story

Salvatore -

Based on everything that we’ve seen on “The Vampire Diaries” season 7 so far, we have to think that the show is going to end in a pretty darn dramatic way this season. We’ve just had a chance to see the synopsis for the final episode entitled “Gods & Monsters” (airing on May 13), and it definitely looks as though there will be some unusual pairings; above all else, though, we imagine that Ian Somerhalder is going to have some excellent material to work with since his character of Damon is at the center of everything:

“Despite their best efforts to help Bonnie (Kat Graham) through the harrowing predicament she now faces, Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Enzo (Michael Malarkey) and Caroline (Candice King) realize their options are running out and drastic measures need to be taken. With their only chance of saving their friend lying inside the Armory, Stefan (Paul Wesley) breaks the news to Caroline that they may need help from an unlikely source – her and Alaric’s twin daughters. Elsewhere, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) keeps Bonnie preoccupied by bringing her back to their cabin but when his plan takes an unexpected turn, it’ll be up to Damon to make the ultimate sacrifice to save his closest friends.”

Could this episode end up giving us a cliffhanger? We imagine so, given that the writers probably knew that there was some talk about there being an eighth season long before we even got around to the network officially renewing the show. It’s with that in mind that we expect everything here to still be somewhat building to something, even if we do drop the curtain on this particular season. We know that there is something else dramatic / exciting coming around the bend.
