‘Outlander’ season 2, episode 4 video: Jamie and Claire stage a dinner party

This weekend’s new episode of “Outlander” is entitled “La Dame Blanche,” and if you are familiar with both the era of the show and also the Diana Gabaldon books, this will probably mean something to you.

If you’re not so familiar, rest assured that there is still quite a bit to look forward to in this episode, as some of the recent episodes of Jamie and Claire Fraser are going to come to a head. At the end of this past episode, the two determined that it was none other than the Duke of Sandringham who was promising money to Prince Charles for the Jacobite effort, and with that, they realized that he was double-dealing and doing what he could to emerge from the fray unscathed. It was a crafty plan by him, especially since Charles’ funds are not entirely what would probably be needed to orchestrate his plans. It lures him into a false sense of ambition.

As the synopsis below indicates, the Frasers are going to have a counter-plan of their own, one that involves a quite-lavish way to turn the tide:

“Claire and Jamie throw an elaborate dinner party intended to derail investors in Prince Charles’ war effort.”

The promo below features more of this, with both Jamie and Claire wondering in the process if they were doing a “bad thing.” Are they? It’s all a matter of interpretation, but they are acting with their own best intentions in mind. This promo also hints that there will be some more action coming up, which is a change from the politics-heavy story we just had a chance to watch.
