‘Outlander’ season 2, episode 3 video: Is Claire looking to do some volunteer work?

Claire -

Is life for Claire Fraser on “Outlander” ever really that “conventional”? We feel like it’s fairly easy to proclaim that the answer to this is a clear “no,” but by her standards, we understand why she may say that it is in the sneak peek below. She and Jamie have settled more in to a life in France, and he is the one who has been tasked more with infiltrating the Jacobite Rebellion and trying to arrange, with Claire’s help behind the scenes, the next move.

In the sneak peek below, we have a scene featuring Caitriona Balfe’s character and Master Raymond, one where she considers finding yet another way to put her skills to use in this world: Volunteering at a local hospital, one that needs help from people like her in order to continue doing good for the world. It certainly seems as though she is pondering taking things on, and there’s no question that she could benefit the patients with her skills. That’s what happens when you are a medical professional from the future!

For those of you out there saying “I know that she does (insert answer here),” we haven’t read the books; therefore, there is a certain part of this story that remains a mystery to us!

At the end of this past episode, the cliffhanger ending-of-sorts revolved around Claire learning from Jonathan Randall’s brother that the infamous tormentor is still alive; it is not entirely clear just what sort of impact he could have on the remainder of the second season, but we have a feeling that, if nothing else, there could be psychological damage ahead for Jamie once he realizes the truth.
