‘Sherlock’ season 4: Mark Gatiss teases Martin Freeman return
Filming is underway at the moment on the fourth season of “Sherlock,” and the great news now is that both Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are back at it playing their signature roles of Holmes and Watson.
In a post on Twitter, co-creator Mark Gatiss (who also plays Mycroft on the series) came up with what was a pretty funny and innovative way to tell fans that Freeman had returned to the set of the series, posting a shot of the back of the actor’s head. You can see in the background a little bit of production, but there is obviously nothing in here that constitutes a spoiler.
There are three more episodes of the BBC series being filmed for the fourth season, and when it comes to the show’s eventual premiere, we’re still waiting on some official news. Personally, we’d be thrilled to see it back once more in early 2017, especially since that fills the void of programming that tends to be there at the start of the year.
As per usual, we will have some further details as they are announced, but we anticipate a rather quiet production period given how conscious Gatiss and the entire crew are in ensuring that nothing substantial gets out. We’re mostly just curious at the moment how Sherlock is going to move on following what we had a chance to see on this past installment of the show in “The Abominable Bride.” It definitely did quite a number on him psychologically.
