‘Shark Tank’ video: Can popSLATE really prove to be the next big phone innovation?

Over the course of “Shark Tank” through several seasons now, we have seen more phone apps than we can count. There are a few that have proven to be especially successful, but there are also a few that are more or less dead as of this writing. It’s definitely a high-risk, high-reward sort of game to get into.

Now that we have said that, there is really nothing else out there we have seen quite like popSLATE, which is actually so much more than many other phone products. This is actually a completely new innovation to your phone versus just s simple app. It allows you to have a second screen, which can give you a wide array of different functions including alternate clocks, sports scores, grocery lists, or other things that are nice to have around. This is an idea that has raised a good bit of money already, but for the time being they are still taking pre-orders. Therefore, it’s always going to be tough to gauge a valuation.

Do we think that this company can get a deal in the Tank? Absolutely, mostly because we can picture it being useful to many people out there, it’s actually less expensive than we thought it would be, and there’s not that much out there like it.

Here’s the downside: They may have to meet in the middle of the value of the company, given that there is still a whole lot still to prove.
