‘Dancing with the Stars 22’ results preview: Are Doug Flutie, Marla Maples, Antonio Brown in danger?

Through the first two episodes of “Dancing with the Stars” season 22, we’ve lost from the cast Geraldo Rivera and Mischa Barton and we cannot say that either one of them made for a surprising exit. One was a really bad dancer, while Mischa just wasn’t improving fast enough to justify her continuing further. Also, it didn’t look at times like she was really engaging in the competition the same way as some other people were.

So where do we see the red light of doom pointing tonight? It’s a little harder to gauge, since we’re at the point now where there are no huge gaps between performers, and viewer vote could become a larger part of the equation.

Doug Flutie – He’s one of the lower-scoring celebrities this season, and we still contend that Canadians not being able to vote easily hurts him more than others given his CFL popularity. Still, football stars in general do have a history of doing well on this show and lasting for more than a few weeks.

Antonio Brown – Wait, don’t current NFL players do well? It’s true, and Pittsburgh Steeler Hines Ward even won his season. Yet, fellow Steeler Antonio just hasn’t figured out this competition yet, and it’s strange given that on paper, it seems like he’d be really good at this. We’d wager that his fans give him at least one more shot.

Marla Maples – If you read our contestant rankings, then you know already we’re the most concerned for Maples. We’re not sure who is voting for her, since her claim to fame beyond some screen credits is being an ex-wife of Donald Trump. Are his supporters really throwing all of their votes at someone he’s not even married to anymore? That’s something we’re a little cagey on right now.
