‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5, episode 17 video: Belle challenges Rumpelstiltskin on the plan
With Sunday night’s new episode of “Once Upon a Time” entitled “Her Handsome Hero” steadily approaching, there are many questions worth asking. Of course, one of the biggest ones is centered around Belle (who will be largely the focus of this episode) and Rumpelstiltskin: Is he finally going to let go of a little bit of power?
To date, Rumple has always been a “my way or the highway” kind of guy, knowing that he has the sort of power and influence to bend other people to his will. Also, he’s the Dark One, and you better believe that he’ll do anything that he can to get what he wants including threats of violence and/or actual violence. Meanwhile, Belle is one of the only few who can challenge him, mostly because of their history, and the notion that she may be the only thing that he loves as much as being in control.
If he wants to keep her, and potentially the child the two are expecting, she makes one thing clear to him in the sneak peek below: He’s gotta listen up for a change, and do things the way that she wants to in terms of breaking the deal that Hades is hanging over the two of them. If you recall, Rumple made a deal long ago about his second child in a way to ensure Neal’s survival, and that is coming back to bite him in a way he never thought it would. Negating this contract is going to be no easy task, but as Belle reminds him, there has to be a way to ensure the child’s safety without resorting to dirty tricks or evil ways in order to make it happen.
So let’s hope for yet another change for Rumple, since eventually we’re going to start pounding our head against the wall in frustration if he keeps using Belle time and time again. It’s time to change up the story and give us a fresh perspective with Rumple.
