TV Quick Hits: ‘Scream’ season 2 shifts premiere, ‘Ray Donovan’ season 4 premiere date; John Kasich heads to ‘Late Night’

Ray DonovanWe begin this latest edition of TV Quick Hits with the latest when it comes to new and shifting premiere dates.

Ray Donovan” set in stone – The Showtime drama is going to be premiering with an electric fourth season starting on Sunday, June 26 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, which actually is the earliest in the calendar year that the show has premiered. For the past two years, the show has waited until after the Fourth of July to launch. It will be followed up by “Roadies,” which makes us wonder a little bit what some of the plans are regarding “Masters of Sex,” which previously followed the show.

Hopefully, we’ll have something more on when Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan are returning in due time.

Scream” grabs a new date – Previously, the MTV series was going to be premiering on Tuesday, May 31. Now, the show is airing a day earlier: Monday, May 30 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. We’re not entirely sure what the reason is for the switch, but interestingly this is the timeslot previously occupied by “Teen Wolf.” Does that mean that the Tyler Posey series is going to be on Tuesdays once more? It’s possible, but we’ll have to wait to find out.

John Kasich appearing on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” – For those of you who still find appearances from Presidential candidates on late-night TV to be interesting, know that Kasich will be on the Thursday, April 14 edition of this show, where we presume he’ll be trying to keep his campaign alive for an open convention later this year. For now, that’s his main path to securing the Republican nomination.
