‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3, episode 15 review: Is Andrew gone for good?

May -No matter how far “Agents of SHIELD” tends to get away from the past, it always seems to find a way to come back to bite them. This is at least what we had in a couple of key timelines on the show Tuesday night.

For example, Gideon Malick started to figure out more ad more about what it is that he really wants: Power, and that includes him doing a very weak impression of Iron Man and trying to take the energy away from others. Also, once again May felt her old feelings for Andrew rise to the surface, and it culminated in one of the most emotional moments of the whole series for her as she had to say goodbye to the part of the man she knew one last time … or so we think. (Man, Blair Underwood and his magical beard found a way to break our heart all over again.)

To go along with this, we also saw the death of Charles this week, which of course makes us wonder if Daisy’s death-vision was about him … though we also had that exploding-spaceship vision and wonder precisely where that is going to go, as well. One other surprising reveal? That we had a nice little Fitz – Simmons moment. Sure, it wasn’t earth-altering, but isn’t it nice from time to time to just have a nice little moment of hand-holding in the midst of all the chaos? We like to think so.

In the end, what a strong episode, and this is without even getting into the manhunt for Grant Ward that has yet to hit its peak. Grade: A-.
