ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8, episode 17 preview: The Stana Katic – Nathan Fillion story in ‘Death Wish’

Tonight, “Castle” is airing an episode that should be a rather nice showcase for the Esposito character, largely due to the fact that we’re going to get a chance to learn a little bit more regarding his past. It’s something that we’ve seen bits and pieces of, but not really in terms of his romantic life … at least until now.

So where do we go from here? We’re talking mostly about next week’s new installment entitled “Death Wish,” which is definitely looking as though it’s going to be a fun showcase of a very different sort of mystery. It doesn’t sound remotely serious, and given that “Castle” airs on a Disney-owned network, we definitely imagine in our head that there is an executive somewhere smiling over the inclusion of Aladdin into the story.

“The murder of a man connected to smuggling Turkish relics sends Castle, Beckett and the 12^th Precinct on a search for a stolen antique believed to be Aladdin’s lamp, in hopes that it can lead them to the killer.”

We were already interested in this episode before we found out that Aladdin was involved, and that’s because of the notion that this seems to be very much an old-school case for the show. Even if Beckett is not on the front lines as much, she still has every reason to be involved here.
