‘Arrested Development’ season 5: More waiting and uncertainty

Arrested -Was “Arrested Development” season 4 the best batch in the show’s history? Far from it. There were some storylines (George Sr.) that we really didn’t care for at all, but it was still “Arrested Development.” A weaker version of this show is still better than 90% of everything else that is on the air these days.

Therefore, we really still want the show back on the air at some point in the future, especially if we get Gob episodes like the ones we had in season 4. (These were AMAZING.) While we’ve heard that a season 5 is happening, nobody really knows anything more than that. This includes members of the show’s cast, which is why Jessica Walter told ET Online the following while promoting her role on FX’s “Archer”:

“We heard we were going to do it, but that was a few months ago, but since then, I haven’t heard a word. I think everybody agrees: we’d love to do more. Absolutely. I love that show. It was so important to me in my career.”

As we’ve said time and time again, though, the main reason that we’re stuck waiting has to do very much with the current schedules for many of the cast. Will Arnett just launched “Flaked” on Netflix while Portia de Rossi is a regular on “Scandal,” Jeffrey Tambor has “Transparent,” and Jason Bateman’s always busy with movies. This is just scratching the surface of some of the commitments that are out there among this crew.

As soon as we know more, we’ll of course let you know.
