‘Shameless’ season 7: Premiere date speculation for Emmy Rossum series

Shameless -Tonight, “Shameless” season 6 is going to wrap up its run on Showtime, presumably with one of its biggest finales to date. After all, we’ve got front and center here a very driven Frank who is going to do just about everything he can to make his thoughts clear on Sean, right as Fiona is getting set to marry him. It’s not often that Frank is particularly motivated, so this is going to prove itself to be a rather interesting story.

Unfortunately, after this one airs, you are going to be waiting for a rather-long time in order to see what is next. The good news is that Showtime renewed the series some time ago for season 7. The bad news? It’s probably not airing until January 2017.

As for whether or not season 7 could actually be the last season for the show, we really don’t know a firm answer for that at the moment. We do know, though, that there are few series on Showtime that go longer than eight seasons. That was the full extent of “Dexter’s” run, and that also is how long “Weeds” ran for. There’s probably enough story for two more seasons, provided of course that Emmy Rossum, William H. Macy, and the rest of the cast and crew still enjoy making the show. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
