Is ‘Madam Secretary’ season 2, episode 19 new tonight? On ‘Desperate Remedies’ in the future

For fans of country music, tonight marks a big celebration on CBS: The annual Academy of Country Music Awards! However, for people who love “Madam Secretary.” It’s a little bit of a bummer since it means there is no new episode tonight.

Any longtime follower of the network may be familiar with the ACM hiatus. It happens almost every year on a Sunday night in April, and it serves as an unfortunate barrier between crucial episodes of some of the shows airing around that time. However, CBS is not going to be move it anywhere else; it generates big ratings for them, and it serves as a great promotional platform for “Madam Secretary” and some of their other shows.

The next new episode of the Tea Leoni series is entitled “Desperate Remedies,” and you can see an image for it above. (Don’t be thrown off that there is no new episode of “The Good Wife” next week — CBS is using that 9:00 p.m. spot on the 10th to air back-to-back installments of “Elementary” since they still have many episodes of that show to go this season.)

Story-wise, you can expect to see in this next new episode Leoni’s Elizabeth McCord do what she can in order to stop a hostage crisis, one that could end up putting young children in danger. Meanwhile, you’ll also get a new progress report on the group that Henry was assigned to not long after nearly losing his life earlier this season. There’s clearly quite a bit going on in this episode, and there are at least three more stories to go after it ends.
