‘Home Fires’ season 2, episode 1 preview: What to expect from Samantha Bond, cast

Well, didn’t this perhaps creep up on many of us? Until checking the schedule this morning, we did not even realize that today marked the season 2 premiere of “Home Fires.” Yet, the wartime drama is indeed back on ITV, and we’ve got some of the first official details regarding the story that you can anticipate seeing in a matter of hours.

Before we get around to covering this particular episode, let’s go ahead and share the attached synopsis! After all, it will give you at least a decent opportunity to surmise as to what is coming up with the story:

“As the Battle of Britain looms, the villagers are living under a cloud of fear. Pat strikes up a friendship with a Czech soldier stationed nearby, but her joy at independence from Bob is short-lived. Laura is forced to face the consequences of her affair with Richard Bowers, and Spencer and Claire’s relationship takes an unexpected turn. Sarah receives some shocking news about Adam, but her sorrow is overshadowed by tragedy for Frances. Meanwhile, Alison strikes a bargain with the police.”

We wish that we could say that times in Cheshire were going to be getting better sooner rather than later, but we’re now in the thick of war as opposed to leading up to it. That does mean that some of the women of the town are going to bear even more of a burden, and there is a great possibility that even more characters could experience tragedy. The show does do a tremendous job at looking at the era through a specific lens, and it is a side to the drama that we are not exactly accustomed to seeing.
