‘Criminal Minds’ season 11 spoilers: Frances Fisher to bring back Gideon’s past
Even though Gideon has not been a part of the “Criminal Minds” universe for a rather-long time, we do have to continue to credit the CBS show for so many interesting ways in which to bring this character back … even if it is just via references here and there.
According to a new report coming in from TVLine, former “Resurrection” and “Titanic” star Frances Fisher is set to appear on the penultimate episode of the season as an UnSub who Mandy Patinkin’s character first put behind bars a decade and a half ago. With that being said, the show has clearly found an interesting new way to include her. Here is what executive producer Erica Messer had to say in a statement on the subject:
“She’s amazing … We’ve been wanting to work with Frances Fisher for years and it never worked out, and we’re so glad it didn’t, because she was made to be this UnSub for us.”
Having Fisher on board is some further validation that the show is really doing what it can to swing for the fences as we get closer and closer to the end of the road this season. Clearly, the producers are aware of some of the challenges that they are facing at present keeping viewer interest high in the aftermath of Shemar Moore’s exit, and they also need some big-name guest stars to fill the void in the story. There are actually fewer regular characters at the moment than we have seen in a rather long time.
