Is ‘Saturday Night Live’ new tonight? On Melissa McCarthy, Beyonce, and Peter Dinklage

Today we once again come as the bearer of bad news if you label yourself a massive fan of “Saturday Night Live“: There is no new episode airing this weekend. The show has spent the past two weeks in repeats, but it is preparing for something massive: A show hosted by Peter Dinklage in one week’s time! This is something that has been on our personal wishlist for some time, and we’re thrilled to see it coming to fruition.

As to when you can start to see some of the bit of coverage of this episode courtesy of NBC, think along the lines of Tuesday night / Wednesday morning. That is when the network tends to release their first promos, and of course we’re going to have some of our own take on those once they are released. From there, we could have another later in the week featuring both Peter and musical guest Gwen Stefani.

As for what is airing tonight, it’s a repeat of the show hosted by Melissa McCarthy with musical guest Kanye West from earlier this season, which has mostly become more famous after the fact for a recorded diatribe that Kanye had. Sketch-wise, we think that the Beyonce-themed spoof below is the funniest thing in what was otherwise a surprisingly mediocre episode. We know that McCarthy has serious skill, but we wish the show did some other things rather than the same sort of stunts they have put her through time and time again on the show.
