‘Supergirl’ season 2: Will we see ‘Wonder Woman’ alum Lynda Carter?

Kara -

We certainly know at this point that the Greg Berlanti superhero universe loves making little nods here and there to the past. John Wesley Shipp has recurred on “The Flash” as Henry Allen, and we’ve also had a chance to see Mark Hamill reprise his own role from the classic series as the Trickster. Meanwhile, “Supergirl” has used such popular names as Dean Cain and Laura Vandervoort, and we’ve now learned that a former Wonder Woman in Lynda Carter was on the shortlist of people Berlanti wanted to see on the show this season.

Unfortunately, that just didn’t happen. Speaking (per TVLine) about the upcoming crossover to reporters, the super-producer made it clear that they “couldn’t work out her schedule,” and he views this as the “biggest disappointment for me this entire season.” He said that he would love to still use her in some capacity in the future.

The one thing to remember here is that the show has not technically even been renewed yet for a second season, not that we’re really that concerned about it. While the ratings have not necessarily been incredible the past few weeks, they’re still solid and people who have stuck around with the show really seem to like it. This may be just enough to ensure that CBS gives it the green light at some point sooner rather than later.

As soon as we do have some further information on the subject of “Supergirl” and its future, rest assured that we will have that news for you here.
